Columbia Announces Updated Spectator and Venue Policies

NEW YORK, NYColumbia University Athletics announced it is updating its attendance policy for all home events. All policies are in accordance with University Task Force, city and state health and safety guidelines.

Effective January 22, 2022, Columbia University will implement a spectator seating policy for track and field events. A limited number of student-athlete and coach guests will be admitted on a pass list. The exact number of guests will be determined based on Columbia University’s event policies.

Athletics Ticket staff representatives will be reaching out to all ticket purchasers for ticketed events regarding refunds.

UNIVERSITY ESTABLISHED COVID-19 VIEWER LOGS

All attending spectators age 5 and older must have full vaccination records to enter all Columbia Athletics venues. Evidence of full vaccination shows that viewers received two doses of vaccine, with the exception of those who received the single dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Acceptable proof of their vaccination can be provided in one of the following ways:

Spectators must adhere to Columbia University’s mask policy. Fabric masks alone no longer meet university protection standards. surgical masks are acceptable for entry. Evolving guidelines recommend KF94, N95, and KN95 as the most effective in preventing omicron.

Neck seals, buffs or masks with valves are NOT allowed.

Discounts are not available at Columbia Athletic events.

Levi High School

  • Participation is limited to a reserved pass list maintained by the competing teams.
  • All eligible spectators must enter Levien High School through the front doors on Broadway and West 120th Street. There is no access through the 4th floor of the Dodge Fitness Center.
  • Passed spectators are allowed to exit and return to the gym. All pass list spectators must present proof of vaccination upon re-entry. If the event is a ticketed event, pass list spectators must present their ticket upon re-entry.
  • All pass list viewers will receive a bracelet after the vaccination check

Percy Uris swimming pool

  • Participation is limited to a reserved pass list managed by the men’s and women’s swim and dive coaches

    • Contact Gustavo Leal at gsl2106@columbia.edu for information on the men’s swim and dive pass list
  • All Pass List viewers must enter from the campus, down the steps in front of the main entrance of the Dodge Fitness Center and through the Grove.
  • All Accessible Pass List viewers may access the Dodge Fitness Center via the elevator on Pupin Plaza (Fifth Floor).
  • All pass list viewers will receive a bracelet after the vaccination check
  • Spectators with a pass list may exit and return to the venue. All spectators must present proof of vaccination upon re-entry.

Fencing for men and women

  • The number of participants is limited for the 2021/22 season. To be considered for participation in each home event, please register via click here. To participate, you must submit your name 72 hours prior to the event. After this time, those permitted entry will be notified.

Indoor Athletics – The Armory (216 Fort Washington Avenue)

  • Spectator attendance at events hosted by Columbia is subject to COVID-19 protocols implemented by the Armory. Click here to learn more.

Squash for Men and Women – Street Squash (40 West 116th Street)

  • Participation is restricted to a reserved pass list managed by men’s and women’s squash coaches.
  • Please contact us if you would like to consider being placed on the Columbia Squash team’s pass list for any home event Joanne Schickerling at js4411@columbia.edu 24 hours before the competition. Only people on the pass list will be allowed into the venue.

Men’s and women’s tennis

  • The Columbia Men’s & Women’s Tennis Teams will compete at a variety of venues during the 2022 season. Visit gocolumbialions.com for more information on specific venues and attendance guidelines for specific venues.

Baker Athletic Complex

  • Viewer policies for home events at Baker Athletic Complex will be announced at a later date.
