LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Press Release) – The Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors® (LBAR) presented its top honors for 2021 at the recent Installation Luncheon and Member Recognition Meeting – Realtor® of the Year and Good Neighbor – to recognize outstanding Realtor® within to honor the association.
Susan Elliot was named LBAR’s Realtor® of the Year for 2021. She works at Berkshire Hathaway de Movellan Properties and has been a member of LBAR for 36 years. Elliott has been the top producer at Berkshire Hathaway de Movellan Properties for 23 years. Their work ethic and professionalism has resulted in an incredible track record. As a result, she’s consistently ranked in the top 1% of the 50,000 agents that make up the Berkshire Hathaway franchise nationwide. This has all been accomplished while giving back to the community in a number of different capacities over the years. The extensive list includes board members of the Lexington Philharmonic Guild, the UK Art Museum, Art in Bloom and the Alzheimer Association. Elliott was also co-chair of the LexArts Fund Drive and chair of the Junior League Horse Show. She has supported many organizations and causes including Woman and Philanthropy, 100 Women, Markey Women’s Health Initiative and the Gil Heart Center Women’s Vascular Health Initiative. She is a founding mother of the Kentucky Children’s Hospital Circle of Blue and co-founded an endowed chair in pediatrics and a College of Medicine fellowship at the University of Kentucky with her husband.
Susie Basham
The Good Neighbor Award was presented Susie Basham, an agent at The Agency in Lexington and a member of LBAR since 2017. Basham serves the community in many ways and is currently the Chair of the God’s Pantry Food Bank BackPack program, which distributes over 240 bags to schools in Fayette and Floyd each month counties. Basham serves on the board of directors of the Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Council and volunteers with MOPS (mothers of preschool children) to encourage and support young mothers. She serves as the Volunteer Center Co-Chair for the PGA Barbasol Championship, a PGA Tour event that supports local philanthropic organizations through its Caddy 127 program, and was named a 2019 Tournament Volunteer. She has served on the Board of Directors of Women Leading Kentucky and co-led the Junior Achievement Miss Business educational workshop, a unique opportunity to help young women develop successful business and professional careers. Basham is also a big supporter of Hope’s Embrace. At LBAR, Basham recently served on the Technology and Professional Standards committees.
Rusty undergrowth became President of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors® (LBAR) in 2022. He has served LBAR in many senior positions including a three-year directorship, was 2020 Treasurer and has held many committee roles including finance, young professional network and executive. In addition, Underwood is Acting President of the Realtor® Community Housing Foundation. He is also a delegate of Kentucky Realtors® (KYR) and a director of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR). A past recipient of the NAR 30 under 30 class, he received the 2015 LBAR Good Neighbor Award as well as the KYR Good Neighbor Award for his community service. He is also a board member of Commerce Lexington. A Lexington native, Underwood graduated from the University of Kentucky and is brought into the business by his wife and Realtor®, Rachel Underwood.
In addition to his work for the association, Underwood is an agent with Milestone Realty Consultants, where he has served for many years as the Top Realtor® for the State of Kentucky.
