The Rich History of Prehemptive CBD Creams

The following is a question and answer for Paul Herve, founder of Preventive CBD creams based on the recipes of a botanical chemist from 1933 Provence, France

Q: What’s the story of Prehemptive?

A: It all started with an old handwritten notebook of natural remedies for sleep, inflammation and arthritis. Although CBD is a new movement, Prehemptive draws its inspiration from the natural pharmaceutical formulas of my great-grandfather, a botanical chemist in Provence in 1933, France. A time when medicine was freshly made in small quantities and only strong ingredients that were right for you were used. Rooted in this precious legacy, we’ve been making hemp CBD products since 2016, harnessing the healing powers of nature to nurture healthy, happy people.

Can you talk about Prehemptive’s flagship product? Preventive Sports CBD creams and full-spectrum topicals and botanicals?

Preventive Sports CBD Cream is a valued family recipe from the south of France for body and skin trauma, arthritis, sunburn, muscle cramps and inflammation.

The outstanding effectiveness of the cream results from its unique mixture of full spectrum hemp cannabinoid extract, arnica, marigold, ginger and lavender oils, enriched with organic shea butter, always freshly made in small batches, 100% active ingredients, no fillers and no preservatives, parabens, petroleum or irritating chemicals free.

What is the recommended use?

Apply a pea-sized amount to the affected area and massage gently until absorbed. For acute and chronic pain, use a second coat immediately after the first application. When applied, it instantly fuses with the pores of the skin just like nature intended for body butter, making delivery to the target area more efficient for faster pain relief. The cream is quickly absorbed and makes your skin soft and supple.

When using Preventive Sports ointment, remember, our cream formulation is very concentrated. A pea-sized amount covers a large part of the target area of the body. With daily use, a small 2-ounce glass will last three months. “Less, more often” is more effective than “more, less often”. Small things have a big impact!

Can you say something about the quality and reliability of the product?

Reliability matters when it comes to your health and that of your family.
Our CBD Crafter has an industry leading quality control system. It uses third party laboratories to analyze our hemp extract end products for cannabinoid potency, heavy metals, bacterial and microbial life, mycotoxins (fungi) and pesticides. Our products are 100% natural, with organic ingredients, no preservatives, no fillers, vegan and gluten-free.

How does CBD work topically?

The cannabinoids primarily interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system, a grouping of millions of cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body. Almost every organ in your body, including your skin, contains cannabinoid receptors. The endocannabinoid system has four main purposes: protecting neurons, relieving stress, immune response, and regulating the body’s general state of balance (homeostasis), which affects skills such as appetite, sleep, mood, and pain. CBD topicals do this like oils by attaching to cell receptors in muscle tissue, skin, and nerves. In a 2019 report, the Arthritis Foundation found that 79% of the 2,600 arthritis patients surveyed had considered or had used CBD. Among those using CBD, 55% used a topical product that was applied to the joints for pain.

Can you explain the personal story behind Prehemptive in more detail?

It all started with an old handwritten notebook that was passed down by the family.

My name is Paul Herve, founder of Prehemptive. I was a photojournalist for 25 years covering war zones and investigative reporting in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. I’m also a big fitness freak, I play soccer, rugby, and beach tennis. Before starting my journalistic career, I served as a soldier in the French Marines.

My busy years doing all of these activities left me with a few broken bones and medical problems that, as I got older, pushed me to seek treatment and a new lifestyle. In 2015 my life took a radical turn when I received a family heirloom in the form of a handwritten notebook.

My great-grandfather was a Provence-based chemist who sold herbal medicines, creams, herbal teas, and tonic wines throughout the region until they lost his business during World War II. After that, every production until now was only for family and friends. But over those years they kept meticulous handwritten records in the notebook of his herbal recipes, treatment protocols, and notes of patients’ treatment responses.

The notebook remained in the family’s possession. Its kept secrets remained intact, but were mostly forgotten as new generations went about their post-war lives until my father passed them on to me with the suspicion that perhaps some of their ancient remedies might relieve the pain in my body.

After deciphering the handwritten notebook, I discovered more than 250 pharmaceutical formulas. I was addicted. ”Little by little, my legacy returned to me, reminding me of the time my grandfather spent in my youth harvesting and preparing herbs for remedies. When medicine was made in small batches fresh and only potent, good When the right ingredients were used for you, they harnessed the power of nature to create the best treatments.

How does inspiration become determination for you?

Discovering the endless and fantastic contents of these natural pharmaceutical recipes inspired me to approach the subject like a crazy professor:

I spent countless hours looking for other family documents, instructional letters, and photos. I interviewed my aunts, uncles, my father, my mother, and my older cousins to read their heads. I started recreating a few basic ointment formulas and became my guinea pig testing the effectiveness of the creams on my pain. When, after a few months, I realized that I didn’t have my great-grandfather’s knowledge, I enrolled in cosmetic care formulation courses to learn the basics of chemistry. A year later, the Prehemptive Pain Relief CBD Cream was developed.
