Nextleaf Awarded U.S. Patent and Provides Update on the Launch of Glacial Gold

Nextleaf Solutions Ltd. (CSE: OILS) (OTCQB: OILFF) (FWB: L0MA) (“Nextleaf”, “OILS” or the “Company”), a government-regulated manufacturer of cannabis oil that has one of the largest portfolios of US patents for extraction and Distillation of Cannabinoids, is pleased to announce that the US Patent and Trademark Office has granted the company a patent for the design of its cannabis oil refinery.

Nextleaf’s automated extraction and purification facility operates in a facility licensed by Health Canada under the Cannabis Act. The company manufactures and supplies purified CBD and THC distillate ingredients to its wholesale customers and sells Glacial Gold ™ branded vapes and distilled oils.

The company believes it has developed defensible intellectual property around the most efficient methods of making THC and CBD distillate on a large scale within a regulated market. Nextleaf holds 17 unique US patents and has received 90 patents worldwide.

“Developing disruptive technologies to improve the economics of manufacturing highly refined THC and CBD oils has been the focus of Nextleaf for the past four years,” said Nextleaf Co-Founder and CEO Paul Pedersen. “We are excited to validate Nextleaf’s patented high-efficiency ingredient processing technology by bringing unparalleled value to consumers with our Glacial Gold ™ vape and distilled oil products.”

The Canadian cannabis sector is the world’s largest federal legal and regulated market. The worldwide demand and acceptance of CBD-based products continues to increase. In February 2021, herbal CBD was added as a legal ingredient in cosmetics by a major market regulator for trade in the European Union. The United States is also expected to put in place extensive state regulation of CBD products.

Nextleaf leverages its growing intellectual property portfolio to gain a competitive advantage by inexpensively manufacturing cannabis distillate that is standardized for potency and purity. The company’s stack of intellectual property, plus numerous licenses and sales changes from Health Canada, enable the company to expand rapidly into the United States once cannabinoids are federally regulated.

Strong demand for Glacial Gold ™ branded distillate products

Nextleaf is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary Nextleaf Labs Ltd. (“Nextleaf Labs”) has supplied a replenishment of all Glacial Gold ™ CBD and THC products to the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch (“LDB”), which is British Columbia’s only wholesaler of non-medicinal cannabis.

For the second week in a row, LDB placed reorders for all seven SKUs of Glacial Gold ™ Distilled Oils and Vapes within days of the previous reorder. This latest order is a 300% increase over the original order from LDB and is the third order the company has received since Glacial Gold ™ was listed in mid-September.
