September 23, 2021 – The first Croatian cannabis museum is about to open in Zagreb, which covers more than 400 m2 and has two floors, an outdoor area and parking spaces for all visitors.
Jutarnji List spoke to Tvrtko Kračun, the founder and co-owner of the Hemps.hr shop, where you can find the largest selection of CBD oils and other CBD products.
The museum opening is planned for mid-December. It will be located in the building opposite the Ministry of Interior on Petrinjska Street, which has also attracted public attention.
“We didn’t go in on purpose, waiting for the space next to the MUP to clear. We have been looking for a decent place with a parking lot near the city center for a long time, because we believe that our museum will be interesting for tourists We did not want to be in the ‘focus’, such as on Ilica, but we wanted a space, that offers visitors a ‘casual’ atmosphere and at the same time enjoys educational lectures in the open air, “said Kračun, who admitted that the idea for a hemp museum came after visiting the Zagreb Chocolate Museum with his daughter.
“I liked the way Ms. Ružica did it and I thought to myself, why not apply something like that to hemp and educate people. This is one of the changes I want to see, and not that Croatia is always the one Trends follow last. ” ,” he explains.
The first floor introduces visitors to the hemp plant, its morphology, species and subspecies and sheds light on the history of its use in different cultures. Through the Wall of Fame and the Wall of Shame, visitors get to know various important personalities from history and learn, for example, the status of hemp during the prohibition period.
“The visitors might be interested in the information that Yugoslavia was the largest hemp producer in Europe. We will try to educate them about hemp in Slavonia and explain how it eventually became a ghost, ”explains Kračun.
On the second floor, in three separate rooms, the museum provides information on medical use, examples from other countries on the use of hemp, information from proven scientific research on the economic effects and effects on human health – both positive and negative. Finally, in the third separate room, the museum explains what the future holds and how the plant could be used – for example why eco-blocks are indispensable and which hemp materials are environmentally friendly.
“We plan to use the outer part of the room for lectures and workshops that are for educational purposes only. We plan to bring lecturers with experience from home and abroad, ”said Tvrtko Kračun, who announced that four employees in the museum.
“Our goal is to educate the public about hemp. I would like to emphasize that we do not persuade people to consume, but rather present scientific facts and focus on science, medicine and business in lectures at the museum, because our goal is to provide scientifically proven positive and negative facts in one place, “explains Kračun, who is delighted with the success of his hemp businesses.
“We did a very good job during Corona and our webshop contributed to that. We had an area on Radićeva Street that we exceeded with our products in less than three months. Our cannabis club is also developing very well, we have several a thousand members, “he said.
Everyone who joins the Cannabis Club for free receives discounts on hemp products as well as the opportunity to actively participate in the selection of the exhibits in the Cannabis Museum and to contribute to its appearance. You decide which exhibitions and people are important for the industry and which should be prominently presented in the museum.
