The mother of a young man who tragically took her own life told an investigation on 14 September how she decided to move him to Tenerife after his school bullying had become unbearable.
The 23-year-old processor Thomas Bennett was sent by his mother Sarah Booth to live with his grandparents in the largest of the Canary Islands in Spain when he was just 12 years old.
The Huddersfield mother told a virtual hearing at Bradford Coroner’s Court that he was severely bullied by a Royds Hall School classmate from the age of 10 and that this continued when he attended another high school, Yorkshire Live reports.

On Boxing Day at 12:30 p.m. he sent her a message to apologize, but after she sent a message back to him she was worried that she wasn’t hearing and said at noon that she knew “something was wrong” .
